Rosenthal studio-line presents “TAC o2” – the inspired continuation of the “TAC” classic in the form of a dinner service and coffee set. Alongside as yet unedited original designs, the program range comprises new shapes in line with the spirit of Gropius.

Symmetry á la Bauhaus

Bauhaus language of form with its distinct straight-line style is of timeless elegance. Walter Gropius, one of the most important architects of the previous century, took the idea of a symmetrical mirror image teapot and bowl to design a modern, classy tea service. Moreover, the elements can be combined in white and black contrast.

Co-founder of Deutscher Werkbund and spiritual father and Head of the legendary “Bauhaus” in Weimar, as well as one of the most famous architects of our time. His philosophy of the linkup of artistic, production engineering and social dimension is deemed to be the fundamental turning point in 20th Century “Industrial Design”. 

Form follows function Teapot handle and lid handle are formed in such a way that the thumb automatically holds the lid in place when pouring. Furthermore, the pot lid also helps in removing the integrated porcelain tea strainer. This is how great design lives from small details!
