Inovan – a newly developed ceramic material"Inovan" was developed at the Rosenthal Institut für Werkstofftechnik (Rosenthal Institute for Materials Science).
Food can be brought direct from oven to table. No more inconvenient and dangerous transferring of hot food into serving dishes etc.. This means food not only looks more appetising, it also stays hot longer. The heat storage capacity of this ceramic material makes sure of that. With the development of a range of casseroles and dishes made from this ovenproof material, the Thomas brand has once again extended its expertise "in the kitchen". These products were displayed at Ambiente 2004 in the "Genio" collection by Stefan Diez, and have been awarded national and international design prizes since that time. The "Inovan" material is also totally new in terms of aesthetics; with its unobtrusive, slightly glossy surface structure, "Inovan" clearly stands apart from all ceramic materials encountered to date. But, despite this slightly textured surface, no metal rubs from metal kitchen utensils and serving spoons etc... All these advantageous properties have been made possible by an entirely new manufacturing process. This necessitated the most careful execution of development work and the use of special raw materials. In terms of ecology, economy, technology and aesthetics, newly developed "Inovan" represents a novel breakthrough in the field of ceramic materials. |
