The absolutely new and exceptional architecture of this factory stands out. The factory has been built not only because of its outstanding esthetics; it also meets the claim of a human work environment. The construction of the factory’s roof is characteristically and artistically inventive. It consists of a system of sexangular ferroconcrete umbrellas that have been assembled to built a honeycombs-shaped roof. This shape was the paradigm for the Rosenthal Studio-line shape »Favo« designed by Elsa Fischer-Treyden. A sexangular and 6.2m high ferroconcrete pillar with a polygonal shaped section forms the supporter of each rooftile. A total of 49 rooftiles cover the 250m long production facility as well as the star-shaped preliminary office building. Natural light alone creates a bright atmosphere inside: Several rooflights illuminate the entire studio without any shades. The façade with its glass sheets and panels offers a rambling view on the Rodach valley. Certainly, this factory is not only a place for highly rationalized and technical operations, but also contributes to the humanization of work and enriches the townscape as well as the landscape. The factory has been sold to Lear Automotive Electronic GmbH in 2000.
